The Spoken Unborn

By Yvette Burleigh
Written after someone in her family got an abortion.
She was so grieved by it and had such a burden
for those unborn babies
that are slaughtered minute by minute.

Look at me...
I am so frail and weak.
In time I will grow strong.

Look at me...
I've not yet tasted life.
Will I have the chance?

Look at me...
My heart beats for you.
Can you feel its strength?

Look at me...
Waiting to be held and loved
As only a mother knows how.

Look at me...
A product of my mother's pleasure.
Am I just a toy?

Look at me...
Waiting to be born; yet afraid.
No choice do I have.

Look at me, Mommy... please...
Before you kill me
For I deserve to live.
